Louis Baisinbert Meursault 1er cru la pièce sous le bois Chardonnay, Burgundy, France 2011

6 in stock

The monks of the Abbey of Citeaux made Meursault their land of choice for wine-making as far back as 1098. This AOC was founded in 1937 and its white Premier Cru surface area covers 11.14 ha. The South-East facing «La pièce sous le bois» has a very unique soil composition: this exclusive parcel stretches across limestone-marl soils giving it a mineral, flinty edge.

A wine that is golden in hue with silvery reflections and an intense nose of elegant oak with a hint of fresh white fruits. The Meursault 1er Cru ‘’La pièce sous le bois’’ displays notes of toasted hazelnuts and toasted bread combined with a good minerality and subtle earthy accents.

A well-balanced, unctuous palate with a good ripeness and intense fruit on the finish. This wine has good length and a subtle hint of sweet spice and white pepper lingers on the palate.
